Summary

Amends the

Defence Act 1903
to provide for parliamentary approval of overseas service by members of the Defence Force, subject to exceptions covering the movement of personnel in the normal course of their peacetime activities and the need to take emergency action.

We acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of country throughout Australia and acknowledge their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to the people, the cultures and the elders past, present and emerging.
